Rush Jet is a support item introduced in Mega Man 3, which has reappeared in numerous other Mega Man titles. When activated, Rush teleports in front of Mega Man. In Mega Man 3 and Mega Man II, Rush can maneuver in all directions, while in other games, he only flies straight forward, although his trajectory can be angled up or down. Rush will teleport away when Mega Man runs out of Rush Jet energy, or when he hits a wall starting in Mega Man 4.
Rush Jet has appeared in every Make a Good Mega Man Level production to date, and is one of two special weapons always put in the games regardless of the weapon votes, the other being Rush Coil.
Make a Good Mega Man Level
In the original Make a Good Mega Man Level, Rush Jet mostly functions like it does starting in Mega Man 4, except Rush will stop moving when Mega Man isn't riding him.
Make a Good Mega Man Level 2 onwards
Starting in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, Rush no longer stops moving when Mega Man dismounts him, and will only stop moving when he hits a wall or when Mega Man runs out of Rush Jet energy, which is closer to how Rush functions in official Mega Man games.
Trivia
- In the first Make a Good Mega Man Level, Rush Jet was almost entirely useless due to a collision error caused when Mega Man's hitbox made contact with Rush and he would teleport away, causing Mega Man to fall to his death in most occasions.
- This is later mocked in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2 with the cheat MAGMML1 Rush Jet.
