Mecha Dragon is a fortress boss from Mega Man 2, fought at the end of the first stage of Wily Castle. It is capable of flying in the air, spitting fireballs out of its mouth, and dealing contact damage strong enough to kill Mega Man in one hit.

Mecha Dragon was made available as a boss in the devkit for Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, and it appears as a boss in the entries Dragon Lab Lair, But It Lacked the Depth to Convince Me That This is Really Hell, and City Under Siege, as well one of the possible routes in Sector Upsilon 6.

As a devkit boss, Mecha Dragon makes an appearance in The Arena. Its boss fight from City Under Siege also appears in The Mega Arena, under the name Siege Dragon.

Battle

Mecha Dragon's AI is very simple; it will fly in place in diagonal directions while sticking to the left half of the screen, periodically shooting fireballs at Mega Man. The most notable change to its pattern from Mega Man 2 is its contact damage; instead of killing Mega Man in one hit, contact with it will simply deal damage. Additionally, it takes damage anywhere on its body as opposed to only its head being vulnerable.

Trivia

• Mecha Dragon is tied with Volt Man for the most common devkit boss in MaGMML2's entries, appearing in 4 levels.
• Mecha Dragon and Volt Man are also the only two devkit bosses to appear in The Mega Arena with unchanged sprites and AI.
• Mecha Dragon is the only boss in MaGMML2's devkit that isn't a Robot Master.
