Big Fish is an enemy in Mega Man 2. As its name suggests, it is a gigantic robotic fish.

Big Fish was first made available in the devkit for the original Make a Good Mega Man Level contest, but it did not appear anywhere in that game. In Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, it appears in the levels Cardinal Man and Dragon Lab Lair, as well as the secret level Twilight Lodge, the Wily stage Reality Core, and the Pit of Pits levels "Magic Crash-Pit Ride" and "Labyrinthe Throwback".

Behavior

Big Fish cannot be seen initially. When Mega Man walks up to one, it will appear and leap upwards, usually out of a pit. After it falls back down into the pit, the Big Fish will not leap out again.

Trivia

  • Big Fish was actually intended to make an appearance in the MaGMML1 level Maze of Death. In earlier versions of the game's engine, Mega Man would walk forward after collecting an Energy Element, which in the case of Maze of Death would cause him to walk straight into a room with a Big Fish. In the final game, Mega Man stands still after collecting an Element, leaving the Big Fish and the room it was contained in unused.
