Kaona Geeno is an enemy from Mega Man 10. It is a small snowman-shaped robot that creates and throws head-shaped snowballs that release bullets when impacting surfaces.

Kaona Geeno was first made available with the Megamix Engine, and subsequently the devkits for Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 and Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level. The first released game to use it was Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero, where it appeared in Frosty Fields and Null and Void.

Behavior

Kaona Geeno sits in place, and if Mega Man is close enough to it, it will remove its head and throw it forwards. Afterwards, it grows a new head and repeats the process. If a thrown head collides with a wall or floor, it will be destroyed and release four projectiles in a plus formation, though shooting it before it lands will prevent the spreadshot from occurring.

How close Mega Man needs to be for a Kaona Geeno to start throwing its head can be altered by changing the value of the throwRange variable in a Kaona Geeno's creation code.

Trivia

  • As of the latest Megamix Engine version, an inaccuracy with destroying a Kaona Geeno's head while it's still attached to the body will result in a new head appearing instantly, as opposed to it taking some time in Mega Man 10.
