Octoboss is a midboss from Mega Man for the Game Gear. It is a miniature version of Octoper OA from Mega Man 5 designed to fit on the Game Gear's screen.

Octoboss was first made available in the devkit for Make a Good Mega Man Level 2. It did not appear anywhere in that game, but it did appear in the Make a Good 24 Hour Mega Man Level entry Flooded Temple.

Behavior

Octoboss will bob up and down while moving back and forth, firing a projectile at Mega Man when it reaches the peak of its height. When Octoboss has only 10 HP left, it will move at double speed.

Trivia

  • Octoboss is the only "unique" enemy from Mega Man on the Game Gear to be present in a MaGMML devkit, and is likely to remain so in future due to that game's reliance on pre-existing enemies. Despite this, it is located in the Mega Man 5 miniboss folder below Octoper OA in the Megamix Engine.
