Nitron is an enemy from Mega Man 3. It is a floating robot used to melt hard rocks in energy mines.

Nitron was first made available in the devkit for Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, and appeared in the stages Snow Man, Cardinal Man, Nitrogen Man, and Donut Observation Center. It also appeared in the Wily stage Reality Core, the Tier X stage Swiss Hotel, and the Pit of Pits sublevel "Lyrickrolled". Despite not being in the original Make a Good Mega Man Level's devkit, it appears in Make a Good Mega Man Level Remastered in the redesigned Wily stages Cannon Deck and Flashback Database.

Following the release of the Megamix Engine, Nitron saw use in the Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level entries Cosmological Factory and The End of Needle Man?!. In the same game, it is also one of many enemies that Don Atetemino can call in from his boxes.

Behavior

Nitron flies from one side of the screen to the other, and if they get close enough to Mega Man, they swoop down and drop three fireballs before flying straight back up, going off the top of the screen. Upon landing on the ground, the fireballs erupt into a tall pillar of flame that takes around one second to go out.

By default, Nitrons are blue with orange fire, but setting "col = 1" in a Nitron's creation code will turn it orange with blue fire.
