- "Sliding penguins, usually created by penpen maker"
- ―Note in (sliding) Penpen's code, Megamix Engine
Penpen is an enemy from Mega Man 3. It is a small penguin robot that either slides along the ground or swims in the water.
The sliding variant of Penpen was first made available in the devkit for the original Make a Good Mega Man Level, but it did not appear in any entries aside from being spawned out by Penpen Maker in entries where the latter appeared.
The sliding Penpen returned in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, with the swimming variant making its debut in the same game; Penpen appeared independent of a Penpen Maker in the entries Just an Ice Level, Ruined Lab, and Escape Sequence, as well as the Pit of Pits sub-level "Gambly Night". Just an Ice Level only includes the sliding variant, while Ruined Lab, Escape Sequence, and "Gambly Night" only include the swimming variant; no level includes both variants.
Behavior
Sliding Penpens will simply slide straight forward, and will be destroyed if they hit a wall.
Swimming Penpens will initially move in a curved pattern, homing in on Mega Man if he gets close.
