The Rolling Drill is a gimmick in Mega Man 5, found in Napalm Man's stage. It is a large machine with several sharp spikes at the front.

Rolling Drills were first made available in the devkit for the original Make a Good Mega Man Level contest, where they appeared in the entries Chroma Key and Maze of Death, as well as the Wily stage Flashback Database1.

Rolling Drills returned in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, where they appeared in the entry Guts Man's Asteroid, as well as the Pit of Pits sub-levels "Citadel Attic", "Ground Eater" and "You know the Drill.", and Null and Void. Null and Void also includes a unique downward-facing variant.

Behavior

Rolling Drills will simply move straight forward. While contact with the sides is lethal, Mega Man can stand on the top.

Starting in Make a Good Mega Man Level 2, Rolling Drills can destroy terrain and enemies in front of them. Null and Void's downwards-facing Rolling Drill does not destroy terrain, but it does destroy enemies.
