The Jewel Platform is a gimmick in Mega Man 9, found in Jewel Man's stage. It is a platform hanging from a chain that is susceptible to swaying based on Mega Man's momentum.
Jewel Platforms were first included in the Megamix Engine, and subsequently the devkits for Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 and Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level. The first game to use them was Make a Good Mega Man Level: Episode Zero, in Null and Void. MaG48HMML saw use of the gimmick in the entries Forest Castle, Copper Cave, and Caution: Moving Parts.
Behavior
Jewel Platforms sit idly, but when Mega Man runs on them, they will swing slightly in the direction he is running in. By running back and forth on one, he can build up momentum to allow for higher and faster swings to either reach higher places or cross long distances.
