The Wily 4 Laser is a gimmick in Mega Man 9, found in the fourth Wily stage. It is a thin damaging laser beam.
Wily 4 Lasers are included in the Megamix Engine, and are planned to appear as a devkit gimmick in Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 and Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level. In the latter game, they appeared in the entries Wily Station and Base in the Boondocks.
Behavior
Wily 4 Lasers automatically extend from where they were placed to a solid surface. The lasers can be blocked off using Concrete Shot or Ice Wall, or bypassed using Tengu Blade or Break Dash.
The creation code value "variation" decides how the Wily 4 Laser will damage Mega Man. The default value is 0, which deals a fixed amount of damage. Setting the value to 1 causes the laser to drain Mega Man's health over time.
