After their duel, Nebula Grey notes that Dr. Regal left the island in tears, unable to cope with his latest failure, with Grey reflecting that Regal's attempts at villainy are always doomed to fail due to lacking the passion to commit to them, seemingly only trying to do evil acts for their own sake.&lt;br /&gt;

The Wily Machine SPIRE will initially use the following pattern:&lt;br /&gt;
* The machine will attempt to stomp at Mega Man using the foot closest to him.&lt;br /&gt;
* On every third stomp, the machine will use both feet to stomp simultaneously.&lt;br /&gt;

To access the weak point (the upper half of the machine's head) during this phase, Mega Man will need to shoot at the feet of the machine. After a foot takes 12 damage, it will be flipped over, allowing Mega Man to easily jump on top of it.&lt;br /&gt;

When a foot is flipped over, the other foot will not move, though it can be flipped over as well. Until both feet return to normal, the Wily Machine SPIRE will randomly use one of the four following attacks:&lt;br /&gt;
* The radar dish to the left of the screen will glow and summon meteors that will attempt to hit where Mega Man is currently standing ''at the time of activation''.&lt;br /&gt;
* The bones to the left of the screen will retract and expand, summoning several bones that move from the left side to the right.&lt;br /&gt;

* 3 Wily Capsule 4s will appear above Mega Man and shoot an energy ball at him.&lt;br /&gt;

* 2 Wily Capsule 7s appear at the top of the screen and shoot an energy ball that pauses momentarily and homes in on Mega Man.&lt;br /&gt;
* 2 Wily Capsule 7s will then appear at the edges of the screen, accompanied by 2 Wily Capsule 4s.&lt;br /&gt;
* 4 Wily Capsule 9s will emerge from behind the spire and perform their attacks.&lt;br /&gt;
* The platform will rise up towards the top of the screen, and 2 Wily Capsule 5s will appear under the platform, firing 3 shots that spiral outward from their respective Capsule.&lt;br /&gt;
* 2 more Wily Capsule 5s will do the same thing, but towards the edges of the platform.&lt;br /&gt;

* Launching random waves of 3 types of gems at Mega Man:&lt;br /&gt;
** Pink gems that fire ring patterns of sparks at Mega Man.&lt;br /&gt;
** Cyan gems that try to ram into him.&lt;br /&gt;
** Green gems that fire a laser downwards at Mega Man.&lt;br /&gt;
* Firing giant cyan projectiles that explode into 4 smaller bullets.&lt;br /&gt;
* Shooting [[Metal Blade]]s at Mega Man's current position.&lt;br /&gt;
* Creating a plus-shaped pattern of bullets (with some holes), that freeze in place and begin spinning clockwise or counter-clockwise (depending on which eye socket the bullets are fired from).&lt;br /&gt;

When reduced to 4 HP, the Wily Machine SPIRE's eye sockets will glow and make the screen flash, before darkening. The line from the Wily Stage maps will then travel across the screen, damaging Mega Man if he touches the start or end points of the line. The line will move towards various flashing dots, which explode into rings of 8 bullets when reached by the line. The line will speed up 3 times throughout the attack (signified by a flash). After the final speed-up, it will traverse the entire length of the platform in a massive pattern before coming to rest at a skull icon, which then explodes - this explosion can be avoided by standing on the edges of the platform. After this, the Wily Machine SPIRE will return to normal and the fight will then resume as normal.&lt;br /&gt;

After depleting its health, the boss battle ends with the Wily Machine SPIRE exploding, and transitions into the [[Wily Jet]] battle.&lt;br /&gt;

Each subsequent cutscene reveals himself to be rather incompetent and unoriginal without meaningfully adding to the ideas he takes from, all his attempts to hijack the contest being foiled by his own poor design. His last ditch attempt, a &amp;quot;hostage&amp;quot; situation involving Beat, a disqualified competitor named Princess, and a cardboard cutout of Eddie, is foiled by Wily and Mega Man, who team up to get Dr. Regal out of the picture before the finals of the tournament. When Regal summons a fortress to hide within, the two storm his fortress and tear it apart, with Regal's [[Regal Machine|ultimate war machine]] being quickly destroyed and Regal himself banished to an unknown location. With the threat put out of commission, the final ceremonies for the tournament begin.&lt;br /&gt;

As Mega Man travels through the gauntlet, he runs into Bass again, who while fighting him reveals that Mega Man was supposed to be disqualified and humiliated because of the way he obtained the Ranks, but Wily backed out at the last moment.&lt;br /&gt;

Operating [[Wily Machine SPIRE|his most powerful machine yet]], Mega Man and Wily do battle, with the Blue Bomber coming out on top. However, the crowd cheers for both. Realizing people actually love him because of this, and that he has something he's superior to Dr. Light at, he vows to keep the world entertained by doing similar feats of spectacle, with Mega Man agreeing to that to uphold everlasting peace.&lt;br /&gt;

Traveling to the Grey Isles, Mega Man passes various trials designed to keep intruders away from where the evil sleeps, the Shrine of Nebula. After entering the Shrine, Mega Man confronts Regal as he awakens Nebula Grey, an incarnation of evil who was sealed away millennia ago. However, due to its exposure to human radio and TV broadcasts, Nebula Grey has renounced its evil ways, much to the dismay of Dr. Regal who is sent away sulking. However, due to the Shrine of Nebula's security systems, Nebula Grey is forced to fight Mega Man to burn off its Dark Power to trick the system into thinking it's been put to rest again, so the both of them can leave the Shrine. Like its predecessors, the game features community-created levels submitted as part of a level design contest. The contest is judged by Mick Galbani, ACESpark, [[Flashman85]], [[Pachy]], and [[Shinryu]]. ==Story==&lt;br /&gt;
At home, Mega Man and family are flipping through TV channels until they stop at one with &amp;quot;Ernest Will&amp;quot; announcing the &amp;quot;6th Worldwide Sponsored Robot Tournament&amp;quot;. Across 15 tiers, robots of all kind can compete for a chance to enter &amp;quot;Ernest Stadium&amp;quot; and win insane cash prize. Realizing its Dr. Wily in an oblivious disguise, Mega Man is forced to enter to find out what the doctor is planning.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Arriving at Victor Heights, Mega Man meets one of his competitors: Hunter Woman.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
After clearing 1 Tier, Wily drops the Ernest disguise to Light and Mega Man to reveal that the events of the last game were perpetuated by someone else who stole his Reality Core. He formed the current tournament to lure out the culprit, and asks for a truce with Mega Man to catch them.&lt;br /&gt;

Clearing more Tiers has the culprit reveal himself: Reginald Regal, a madman whose obsessions with the simulations had himself kicked out of the committee. Regal reveals he made the Wily decoy to keep everyone's eyes off him. When he tries to use the Reality Core to erase Mega Man, it turns into confetti and quickly flees. Each subsequent cutscene reveals himself to be rather incompetent and unoriginal without anything to hid behind, his attempts to hijack the contest being foiled by his own poor design and his last ditch attempt, a &amp;quot;hostage&amp;quot; situation involving Beat, a disqualified competitor named Princess, and a cardboard cutout of Eddie, and converting them all to evil. Wily and Mega Man then team up to tear down Regal's fortress and defeat him with little effort, allowing them to go to the finals of the contest.&lt;br /&gt;

During the final ceremonies, one of the finalists, [[Bass]], claims Mega Man cheated because some of the Tier Ranks he obtained were illegitimate (Regular Joe finding the Rank in the trash, Dr. Vicious and Hyena acting as a substitute due to Ignorance being frozen, the Tier 7 Boss not even being there). &amp;quot;Ernest&amp;quot; checks Mega Man's ranks, but states they're legitimate before disqualifying Bass. When the other finalists complain about the Tournament being rigged, Wily drops the disguise and states the prize is real, waiting for them within his &amp;quot;Wily Stadium&amp;quot;. Traveling to the Grey Isles, Mega Man passes various trials designed to keep intruders away from where the evil sleeps, the Shrine of Nebula. After entering the Shrine, Mega Man confronts Regal as he awakens Nebula Grey, an incarnation of evil who was sealed away millennia ago. However, due to its exposure to human radio and TV broadcasts, Nebula Grey has renounced its evil ways, much to the dismay of Dr. Regal who is sent away sulking. However, due to the Shrine of Nebula's security systems, Nebula Grey is forced to fight Mega Man to burn off its Dark Power to trick the system into thinking it's been put to rest again, so the both of them can leave the Shrine. After Mega Man defeats Nebula Grey, it takes on a smaller form so it can explore the world.&lt;br /&gt;
