The Junk Magnet is a gimmick from Mega Man 7, found in Junk Man's stage. It is an electromagnet that can lift metallic objects when active.

Junk Magnets were first included in the Megamix Engine, and therefore the devkits for Make a Good Mega Man Level 3 and Make a Good 48 Hour Mega Man Level.

Behavior

Junk Magnets are attached to rails. At first, they remain idle and inactive, but when activated by a switch object corresponding to their "myFlag" creation code value, it will begin moving according to the rail it is attached to, dropping if they encounter a hole or sudden end to the rail. While active, they will pull Mega Man up towards them, though he can easily move out of its magnetic pull. Junk Magnets can also pull large blocks of debris from specific spawner objects should they pass over them.
